UC Aerospace: 75 Years of Excellence

Anniversary Weekend Activities

For directions and other information, check our Details page. The registration cost will be $40 per person for both days, $25 per person for one day and includes all activities (and food!) scheduled for that day. Check the Registration page for payment information.

The schedule is starting to firm up after a planning committee meeting last week. Currently in the works: a Friday afternoon panel from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for those who plan to arrive early. Dick Johnson from Gulfstream will discuss supersonic business jets and Bill Koop from WPAFB is going to talk about VAATE.

We're still visiting that one of a kind Hofbrauhaus at Newport on the Levee Friday evening, probably from 6:30 to 8:30. Get in touch with your classmates, enjoy the scenery, and eat a light dinner with us or make plans for dinner afterwards at one of the wonderful restaurants at Newport on the Levee.

For directions and other information, check our Details page. For an annotated PDF map, click here. (Note: using Acrobat Reader 6 will allow you to see the annotations.)

Plan to arrive early Saturday: we will have campus tours (fast, slow, and in-between) starting around 10 a.m. and hopefully you'll be back around 11:30 for a nostalgic lunch in the Max Kade Cultural Center in Old Chemistry, where we will enjoy Skyline and Graeter's. We'll reconvene after lunch in 544 Baldwin for a presentation by one of the Wright Brothers. We'll also hear about the current direction of the department and then embark on lab and college tours, where you can see the new freshman laboratory, among other things, and you'll have a chance to see what graduate and undergraduate students are working on. For those who want to rest, the Alumni Center has made a room available to us from 3:00 to 5:30 so you can freshen up, put up your feet, whatever. This would also be a good time to visit the Art Museum or other area attractions.

The dinner banquet will start with cocktails at 5:30 in the newly remodeled Great Hall at Tangeman University Center, overlooking Nippert Stadium where UC's new president, Dr. Zimpher, will be addressing us at 6:00. Dinner will be served at 6:30 and GE's Brian Rowe will be delivering the keynote speech at 7:30.

We encourage you to plan something with your classmates Friday evening and Sunday morning (please let us know if we can help you in any way).

The Class of 1963 is making plans to meet Saturday afternoon before the banquet. Contact Gary Slater for details.
