Reduced-Gravity Student Flight Opportunity 2005/6

in March the UC team flew on NASA's Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program again! Matt Urbaniak, Kate Lane, Jeannette Dehmer, and Patrick Reed all particpated. Dr. Williams is the faculty advisor for the UC team. The team was unable to fly due to technical (plane) difficulties last summer so NASA rescheduled them for this spring. Each two-member team flew. This is the fourth time the UC proposal has been accepted for the NASA program!

Some details:
64 parabolas (60 Zero-G, 2 Lunar-G, 2 Martian-G)
4 hours total flight time (approximately 24- 26Êminutes of Zero-G time)
3 people got sick
TONS of fun!

Apparently the UC team startled the NASA observers, who kept asking them when they were going to run their experiment. "It's running," the students told them. "All we have to do is press 'Enter' and then 'Save.'" It pays to have lots of experience!
